27 Down.....

......13 to GO!!

I will be 27 weeks along tomorrow.  For those who "weeks" mean nothing to them... I am 6 months, with almost exactly 3 months to go!  It's so crazy... it seems so far away, yet SO very close.

Pregnancy Timeline:

September 17 - First (+) pregnancy test

(only 2 weeks after just moving into our ONE bedroom apt, and signing a 12 month lease... yup we've got great timing :)

October 10 - First Pre-natal Appointment & First Ultrasound!

I was pretty convinced that I could not possibly be any further than 7 weeks (including the two weeks they add on)..... nope.... 10 Weeks!!  I was shocked ha.

It was amazing to get our first glimpse of our tiny "gummy bear" and hear it's heartbeat!

I made Jeff take pictures because I was SURE I was showing ha!

16 Weeks (Thanksgiving Week) - Second Ultrasound!

So amazing to see our little one squirm around and be able to see distinct body parts!  Really starting to look like a baby :)

December 1 (17 Weeks) - I felt the baby move for the first time!!  (or at least finally recognized it :)

I was sitting in sacrament meeting at church, and wasn't sure if what I was feeling actually was movement.... but after a couple days I realized it was for sure!  What an amazing experience.

December 10 - Jeff felt his baby move for the first time!!

Only a week and a couple days after I felt it, Jeff was able to feel it as well.  What a special moment it was.  It was so sweet to see the awe in his eyes as he gasped every time he felt a kick, exclaiming "I felt it!"  He's going to be an amazing dad and I'm so grateful for our little family!

December 18 - Our big 20 week Ultrasound, and........

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went out and bought her first outfit to celebrate!  We are pretty darn excited :)

We were actually pretty confident that it was a girl going into our ultrasound... well, Jeff was confident and I was just mostly really hoping for a girl (and hoping that Jeff was right ha).

She was at first a bit uncooperative and the nurse was having a hard time getting a good look.  Then the umbilical cord was going right in between her legs so the nurse told us girl, but wasn't super confident... Finally we got a good look and the nurse was 100% sure it was a girl!

Every thing looked great and she was growing right on schedule.  I just love being able to see her and make sure all is well.

 Front view of her face!

And a profile view in 3D - with some legs in there as well.  Silly girl was completely bent in half ha.

Sorry, not the best picture, but finally starting to really show :)

And then it was like I popped out overnight!  I'm sure the extra billion pounds I gained over Christmas, New Years, and a trip to Boston/D.C. helped out ha ha :)

It's so fun to finally actually be looking pregnant!  I have to say, I have been very blessed all throughout this pregnancy.  I have really loved being pregnant and I still LOVE feeling our little girl wiggle around inside me!  It's the most incredible thing ever.  She is getting stronger and she get's the hiccups sometimes :)

We are SO in love already and are SO excited to meet our little girl in 3 short months!

And Some More Big News....

I'm only like 2 & 1/2 months late on this announcement.... buuuuuut if you haven't already heard our big news...

We're having a BABY!!!!!!!!!

We are pretty darn excited to meet our little one and can hardly wait until May! :)

Big News!

Earlier this month we received some very exciting and surprising news...... Jeff got awarded a transition to the Jet in Salt Lake!  In other words (or in normal career terms)... he got a "promotion" of sorts!  During the entire month of February and the first half of March he will be training to fly the CRJ - an upgrade from the tiny turbo prop plane he currently flies to a 50-70 seater Jet.

This news came as a HUGE shock to us..... Jeff has always had his name on the list to fly the CRJ out of Salt Lake, just waiting for a spot to open up.  However, they were estimating zero spots to open up in February so we weren't even thinking about it.  Then he randomly received a congratulatory email telling him that he would start training in February!

Hopefully training this time around will be much less stressful for Jeff and luckily it's all done right here in Salt Lake!  He will be home every night and will have the weekends off (with the exception of some studying of course).  It will be a bit weird for him to have "normal" 8-5 work hours for a little while ha ha, but it will be nice.

Honestly, my first reaction to this announcement was not excitement... my mind was whirling with total shock and anxiousness.  However, we have to come to recognize what a huge blessing this is for us.  The timing is really quite perfect.  I always find great comfort in the fact that Heavenly Father is looking out for us and with his eternal perspective, knows what's best for us.

Jeff is not quite as thrilled to go through training again, but we are very excited for him to begin this new adventure in his career!  He is very excited to fly a bigger airplane and for the potential to fly all across the country (instead of just to Wyoming, Nevada, and Colorado :).

I love my handsome Pilot! :)

Happy New Year!

On the Friday after Christmas my sister and her family came up to my parents house to go to Temple Square and watch the BYU bowl game.  We had a fun time at Temple Square, though due to a grumpy  (but very adorable) 15 month old it was cut a bit short.

A very bundled up Brooke

Not the best picture, but I love Carlie's cheese face!

I just love these two cuties!  They are so hilarious and entertaining to watch interact with one another!

We had a great time at Temple Square looking at all the lights freezing our buns off... I didn't even think about bringing a beanie, so luckily my six-year old niece was willing to share hers with me.

On the Monday before New Years we met up with some friends from Logan in Salt Lake and went to dinner then a Jazz game.  We had a great time (even though we couldn't get seats right next to each other) and the Jazz even won!  Fun times!

For New Years Eve we spent the night with our besties Ryan and Julane (and their adorable little 3 month old), their parents, and my parents.  We had dinner, and spent lots of time chatting and playing games!  It was a great way to kick off the New Year!

2013 was a definitely a good year and i'm always excited to see what the next year will bring.  2014 has already brought us some interesting surprises and I can't wait to see what other great new adventures await us!

Christmas Festivities

This year Jeff surprised me with tickets to the Forgotten Carols!  I love the Forgotten Carols and Jeff had never seen it before.  It was fantastic as always and Jeff loved it as well!

Some of our other Christmas festivities included making a Gingerbread "village" with our good friend (old roomie) Jenni!  And if you can't tell... Jeff was in charge of the two tall roofs :)

Me, Jenni, and our beautiful creation

Jeff was going strong until about 11... ha.  And this is where he ended up for the rest of the night :)

Every Christmas that we've been married it hasn't been worth it to get a xmas tree since we usually weren't home for much of the holiday.  This year we were very excited to get our very first Christmas tree!!  (real of course :) It smelled heavenly... mmmm!  And if it looks like there aren't any ornaments on it... well that's because we only have six ornaments ha :)

We loved our cute little tree!

This year we spent Christmas at my parents house!  Even though we live only 15 minutes away now, we stayed the night on Christmas Eve and Christmas night so we could stay up late playing games.

For the month of December, Jeff chose to do reserve (be on call) for work so that he actually had a chance of having Christmas off.  Unfortunately he ended up having to fly on Christmas day, but it actually worked out just fine and definitely could've been worse.  He was only gone from 9 to 4, so we all woke up early to open presents before he left - he really only missed nap time :).

I'm excited to try out my new sewing machine!

 Jeff's favorite present :)

 A bubble headed Chris

After presents Jeff left, many of us took naps/enjoyed our new Christmas loot, made food for dinner that night, then headed down to Mapleton to spend the night with my siblings down there.  We got to see all of the grandkids' christmas loot, and then when Jeff got there we exchanged presents, had dinner, chatted, and played games.  It's always a great time when we all get together!

Jeff was VERY excited to finally have the Super Mario Bros game on the wii, and was often giggling while he tried it out for the first time ha ha.  Funny boy.

What's New With the Wegners

Costa Rica was a great way to finish up our wonderful and busy summer.  Man... summer seems so long ago...

After our trip, we went on a couple camping trips, went to some weddings, and most importantly... we moved!!  Out of my parents basement into our own one bedroom basement apartment in Farmington!  We are so very, very grateful to my parents who were extremely welcoming and let us take over their basement for quite some time, but it was definitely getting time to get back on our own and into our own space.  The reason why we ended up staying so long was mostly because we were trying to figure out if we should buy a house or not (we didn't want to move just to move again a couple months later).

Well, anyway after going back and forth between buying and renting we found this apartment in Farmington that we really liked.  It took us another month of thinking we wanted to buy a house before we realized that the Lord was giving us another answer and Farmington was where we were supposed to be.  So, in the first week of September we moved into our new apartment!  We LOVE it so so much!  The area is wonderful, the ward is wonderful (and gigantic), our landlords are fantastic and really look after me when Jeff is out of town, and our apartment, though only a one-bedroom, is quite spacious, open and doesn't even feel like a basement.

(This is how we lived for the first few days... ha.  Sleep over in the living room!  Mostly because the carpet in the bedroom was still damp and we also forgot to grab our bed frame out of the storage unit ha ha.  Good times :)

In october we took a little trip out to Boston to visit Jeff's family who just moved there this summer, and a short trip out to DC to visit Jeff's grandparents.  We also said goodbye to a dear member of our family... "Turbo."  The beloved truck.  Jeff's truck of 10 years, and his first vehicle.  Turbo was quite the trooper and held a lot of sentimental value for us.  This truck brought us together and gave us over 3 more years of wonderful memories.  Turbo was very loved, and hopefully his new owner will be able to love him just as much as we did.  Fortunately we were able to replace (ugh.. such a harsh word...) him with "Turbo 2.0" (which has made the transition a little easier ha).

I'm not ashamed to admit that tears were shed the day we let Turbo go... it was a very sad day indeed :(

In November Jeff had a big break from work so we were able to go hang out with his brother and family in San Diego for a few days.  We got lots of playtime with our nephew, went to the Wild Animal Park, and had dinner with Jeff's grandparents and aunt and uncle.  It was so great to see everyone!

Jeff unfortunately had a 4-day trip during the week of Thanksgiving... so that was a big bummer.  I hung out at my parents house and we enjoyed a small Thanksgiving this year with my parents and two brothers.

Pura Vida! - Part 4

Ok, last Costa Rica post!  Sorry so many... it was just too hard to narrow down all my pictures.  The rest of our trip was very nice and relaxing.  We enjoyed a lot of playing at the beach, pool, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

There was actually some really good snorkeling right off our beach... well, at least I was enjoying it until I swam into a patch of jelly fish (or at least jelly fish parts) and got stung really bad all over my body.  I was out of the water at that point and was a little nervous to get back in... but yeah, other than that the snorkeling was great!

We also took a boat out to a couple other snorkeling spots one day.

My favorite thing we saw were all the Spotted Eagle Rays!  They are so graceful and beautiful to watch swimming through the water.

All the scuba certified people went out scuba diving one day while the rest of us stayed with the kiddos.  Jeff really want to get all certified before we went on this trip, but it's really tricky with his flying schedule and regulations.  He ended up being able to a quick intro class in a pool while we were there, then got to go out with everyone else and do a little diving.  He was very excited and LOVED it!  I wish I had some pictures of it...

We've got three birthdays all within the first week of August, so we got a cake and celebrated while we were all together!

A view of our beach and the area surrounding our resort.

We loved all of our beach time!  Just a short walk away from our rooms too.

The kiddos loved their beach time too :)

Oma and Opa and their three adorable grand kids!  Covered in (and some eating ha ha) wet sand :)

Ahh.... Paradise.  I'm all ready to go back!
