I'd say it's about time for a new phone...

Well.
This morning I woke up to my phone alarm, which after pressing every single buttom, wouldn't go off. The solution to the problem? Simply turning my phone off. I did that and then turned it back on.

*This is becoming more of a frequent phenomenon as the days go by*

SOoo... soon after trying to send a text I realized I have no service. No matter where I go! This same exact random occurrence happened to me last Saturday when I was getting ready to head up to Bear Lake. I had to use my mom's phone to get a hold of people but eventually they both started to die from searching for service all day. So up until about 10 at night that day my phone had absolutely no service (with the exception of a half hour maybe).

So i'm not really looking forward to a day without phone service... Sorry if anyone is trying to get a hold of me.

I don't know about you, but this doesn't sound normal to me...?? I'd say it's time for a new phone!

Camping!

So I've had a craving to go camping for the past like five months or so, and I finally got to go!! It was a blast! Last weekend me and a small group of friends drove up to St. Charles, Idaho (by Bear Lake) and camped in porcupine campground for just one night.

We went up to Minnetonka cave and went on a tour through it which was pretty awesome.

Inside the cave

Jess, Kyle, Jenni, and I

We all decided to Model Kyle's hat that he bought on his trip to Asia

There's only one word needed to describe this: Creepster

* Darrell introduced us to a new delicious creation: Banana Boats! You take a banana and slice it down the middle (while still in peel) then dice it and take out some chunks. Fill in the holes with broken up reeses peanut butter cups and marshmallows! Then wrap in tin foil and put in fire for like ten ish minutes. Yum Yum! *

Saturday morning we went to Bear Lake at played in the water and the beach. The water was a little cold at first but was quite refreshing. It was overcast for most of the time we were out there.... and that combined with my stupidness about not wearing sunscreen equals lots and lots pain for me. Both me and my roommate Jessica now have awful awful sunburns that don't appear to be getting any better. My shoulders and back are real bad and it's been pretty miserable. But oh well... maybe THIS time I'll finally learn my lesson, eh?

Building sandcastles on the beach!

Jess and Kyle were convinced that theirs was better than ours... little did they know it wasn't. Ha ha and here they are thinking they are so victorious. Ha ha jk

Money, Money, Money

Ok so here's some good money news I'd like to share with you all! First of all, I had rented a movie from Redbox a few weeks ago and I'm over %100 percent positively positive that I returned it the very next day. I was looking at my checking account online a few days ago and noticed that I'd been charged $18 from Redbox. I was very confused and NOT happy. I called them up and talked to a lady who said that the eighteen dollars was for Bedtime Stories (really good one, I recommend it), which was the movie that I'd rented a few weeks ago. I was very confused thinking that that could not possibly be correct. The lady gave me a couple free Promo codes (as if that makes everything all better, especially since I can easily get free promo codes other places) and hung up. After talking to her I figured it all out in my head and realized that I for sure returned it the very next day - at 2:06 pm to be exact - and I was determined to get my money back! I then sent them a very detailed e-mail and asked for a refund. They responded and asked me a few questions and said they would investigate. I was feeling a little discouraged, especially when I didn't hear back for a few days, BUT today I got an e-mail from them and they apologized for the inconvenience and are giving my money back!!! Wahoo!!

Also, this summer I have been working hard trying to earn enough money to pay for school this coming fall. I had tried to estimate how much I would make over the summer and see if I would have enough come August and I wasn't sure if I would be able to pay for it all. The fact that they raised tuition this year was not any help either. I just sent a thousand dollar check to pay for part of my rent leaving me with very little in my account... which caused me to worry a little. We were really slow applying for FAFSA this year (financial aid) so I didn't think that I would be getting much help from them... BUT the other day I finally received notice that I'd been awarded financial aid and I just had to go to USU's website and accept it. I went there and to my wonderful surprise I've been awarded $2,600... PER SEMESTER!!! I was in total shock as I read it. I thought "No way. This can't be right! That's a LOT!" but fortunately it is right! I almost cried tears of joy, literally! I was SO happy and I just feel so grateful! The best part is, is that when you add that to my scholarship... it turns out I'll be getting over $900 BACK!! Which will help pay for the rest of my rent and part of my books!! I feel so unbelievably relieved! So now with what I have left in the bank plus the rest that I'll be making the next month will be plenty for me to live off of. I'm also planning on getting a job when I go up to Logan and now I will also be able to buy a digital SLR camera that I've been dying to get!! Man life is just so great! And I love free money! It's so fantastic!
