Memorial Day Weekend

We were down at my parents house babysitting Matt for Memorial Day Weekend and like I mentioned before I spent most of that time working hard in my room... I did take a break however to go to the Air Show at Hill Air Force Base!  It was Matt's first one and he thought it was awesome.

It was dumping rain all morning but we got lucky and it stopped for the last couple hours (which is when we went).

 This plane is HUUUGE!!

P-51:  Jeff's dream plane to fly and the plane that my grandpa flew in the war.

F-22:  "Sleek and Sexy" as Jeff describes it.

Waiting for the Thunderbirds to start

They put on a pretty good show!

On the actually Memorial Day we were back up here in Logan.  We met up with our friends Ryan and Julane and had a BBQ at First Dam, then played a fun game that I cannot remember the name of... but anyway then to satisfy the men we finished up the night with a little bit of Jason Bourne.

Overall, a Great Weekend!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Going through old stuff in my room is always a joy and fills my mind with fond memories.  My mom has been hassling me to pack up my old room so that they can actually use it for something else... Yes 4 years after moving out (plus getting married) I still have my mark and claim on my room in my parents basement.  This task has been procrastinated for two reasons.

One:  It's simply a very large and daunting task that I have been dreading and therefore avoiding.

Two:  It's kind of sad to give up that part of me and my life.  I loved that room and it was a big part of my younger years.

Anyway, now that my parents are off having the time of their lives on a cruise ship in Alaska, and I'm home here with Matt for a few days I have decided to take on the beastly task.  My goal is to organize and box up everything... however it currently looks like a giant mess... When Jeff got down here on Thursday he walked in and said: "Wow.  Are you actually moving out or moving in?" Everything is currently out of the boxes that they were in, in my efforts to organize.... Yeah, we'll see how it goes.

Although this picture is quite deceiving, I promise that everything is actually mostly organized here... ha ha

It's just fun to look back on the life I've had (particularly the younger years, because that always brings the most entertainment) and think about what a good life I've had and how blessed I have been!  I'm so grateful for the friends I had growing up and what they taught me.  I'm also very grateful for my amazing family and parents for all the memories, many good laughs, and life lessons taught.  It also makes me look forward to Jeff and I's future and having our own little family.  Can't wait to see what great memories that we will be creating in the future.

Yellowstone

We had been dreaming of an anniversary trip to Yellowstone, but wasn't sure if we would be able to fit it into our crazy summer schedule.  We decided that last weekend was our only chance... so we took it!

We left Thursday after work and spent two nights in West Yellowstone, and then one night in Jackson Hole (where we spent the second half of our honeymoon).  We had tons of fun and I LOVED Yellowstone!  So beautiful.

 Tons of Buffalo of course

This was one of my favorite stops because of all the incredible colors!

 Aren't those colors just incredible?!

 Hello Old Faithful

 Coyote!

This buffalo is standing right next to our path back to our car... so we had to climb up this steep hillside to get around him without getting mauled.

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  Beautiful waterfall and Gorgeous canyon!

Who's afraid of the big bad wolves?
(click on the pic to see it full screen)

This trip really had me wishing I had a much bigger zoom lens, especially when we saw these wolfs.

This one's called Emerald Pool... I wonder why?

 Mammoth Hot Springs!

We love to search for wildlife, and on this trip we were determined to see a Bear....

 And we saw 4!

Mama bear and her two cubs!!

 Tetons!  Such cool mountains.

Found this beautiful hillside on one of our off-road adventures.

Triple Combination Celebration!

This last weekend was packed full of many celebrations for us....

Here we are celebrating Jeff's job at Firehouse Friday night!

Celebrating Graduating on Saturday!

Not to brag or anything... but I got yet another 4.0 this semester!  Great way to finish off my last year of college :) - and the ironic thing is that these last two semesters were my hardest/busiest/craziest of them all!

I found one of my old roomies!

And Finally....

ONE YEAR Anniversary Celebration on Sunday night!!
Can't believe it's been one year!  It was so fun to reminisce and watch our wedding video.  Looking forward to the many years that lie ahead of us :)

And now it's off to Yellowstone tomorrow for a quick weekend Anniversary Trip!  We are stoked!

Welcome Aboard!

"Welcome Aboard"... the title of the email that Jeff received from SkyWest Airlines yesterday offering him a job flying as a First Officer in the EMB 120!  His dream job, finally come true.  It feels a bit weird because this is the moment we've been waiting for the past year (Jeff his whole life) and it's finally here.  It feels super surreal.... But we are SO excited for this new adventure!

Many people have been asking so here are the details so far... As of right now Jeff will be starting his training June 4th, which will last until the beginning of July.  It's actually perfect timing because Jeff's training will be finishing up just as my job here in Logan will be ending as well, so then mid-July we will be able to move where ever we need to.

We don't know yet where we will be based out of, but the options are Salt Lake, Portland, and a bunch in California.  The most junior base (and most likely place to get based out of) is Fresno.  We would like to stay in Utah so we might end up living here and Jeff would commute to work - that's the great thing about being a Pilot... Commute via airplane :)  So anyway, there are still some unknown aspects of our lives, but it sure is comforting to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and that we will end up where ever we are supposed to be.
