Showshoeing!

On Monday our dear outdoorsy friend Todd took me and my roommate Jess out on our first snowshoeing experience.  It was quite fun, but we only had an hour or so, so it wasn't a very long trip.  We went up Green Canyon and it was SO beautiful up there!  The snow was freshly falling and ah it was just beautiful!!

This is a cave that we hiked... or snowshoed up too I guess :)

Jess and Todd

Me and Jess scooted down the steep hill on the back of our snowshoes ha ha!  It was kind of like sledding and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We got to the top of this little ledge/hill thing and Todd had the great idea to jump off and take action pictures.  So here we are at the top of the ledge getting ready to jump.

Ha ha ha!!  I just love this picture!  Jess jumped and this is the result.... she landed face first in the snow ha ha!!!

My turn!  The first time I only jumped about a foot... ha so I tried it again and did much better.   However when I landed my the second time my feet were trapped in the snow and I was stuck for a few minutes ha ha.

Todd was pretty much pro at this so here's only one of the many pictures we captured of him flying through the air.  Pretty sweet I must say.

Baby Shower

So on Saturday we had a baby shower for my sister-in-law Maridee.  She's having a little girl in the end of February and I'm SO excited for niece number two!!  She got so many cute little outfits and things.  I had a hard time picking out an outfit to buy for her because everything was so stinking cute and I wanted to buy it all!  Ha ha anyway it was a lot of fun!  My grandpa came over and joined our party and he is just a hoot!  With a combination of grandpa's funniness, Megan's craziness and a very large cut out of Edward Cullen we were highly entertained for hours.

It sure is nice to have grandma and grandpa living close now.  I've enjoyed seeing them a lot more and it's fun to have them around!

Let me introduce you to my future boyfriend... Edward Cullen!  :)  Ha ha Just kidding!  This is only one of the numerous photographs taken with this life size Edward.  Thanks to Megan for letting us borrow and drool over him.

Weekend

So I realized today that most of my social life consists of going to school sports games and watching movies... not too exciting (well the movie part at least), but I really do love going to games!  Especially basketball!  They are SO much fun and we never lose in the spectrum!  I just love it! 18-1 baby Go AGGIES!!  Haha anyway, so in the beginning of the year it was always football, and then now there's at least one basketball game a week, sometimes two and I also really like going to the hockey games.  So that was a big part of my weekend...

Thursday was our dear super tall, freshman friend Shawn's 19th birthday!  There was also a basketball game.  So me and my two roommates bought 19 balloons and wrote something we loved about him on each one then snuck into his apt. and put them in his room while he was gone!  Then we went over to the game... which we won of course :)  Then afterwards we were planning on going to Firehouse to get a free FH'Zookie (sorry don't know how to spell it) for Shawn's b-day, which is a large gooey, delicious cookie with ice cream on top!  OH SO good!!!!  But when we got there they were closed so we decided to make our own!  Haha Me and four of my roommates plus shawn downed a whole pan of it in less than two minutes!  Oh man it was ridiculous ha ha... but so good!

On Friday we just went to the hockey game which was way awesome!  Ha so many good fights... that's why everyone goes right?  Ha ha it was a lot of fun.  Then on Saturday there was another basketball game.  We played Boise State which I guess was supposed to be a really good game, and it sure was!  There was only a couple seconds left in the first half and Tai Wesley shot from a little closer than half court and" SWISH" it went in exactly as the buzzer went off!!!  Ah the crowd went WILD!  I was screaming my lungs out it was so cool!  Ha ha anyway it was awesome and we won so thats even better.  They had an after party that night at the Fun Park so we all went to that and danced the night away.  A busy night but lots of fun!

Snowboarding

Our ward had a ski/snowboard night last Saturday and up until Saturday morning I was only planning on sitting in the lodge while everyone else was out having fun.  Ha ha yeah doesn't sound that exciting to me now... I don't know what I was thinking.  I always told myself that I never wanted to try snowboarding or skiing because it just didn't sound fun and the thought scared me a little.  Somehow my dear roommate Jess convinced me hours before we left to try snowboarding... and so I did it!  And guess what??  I LOVED it!!!!  I decided that I need to live life to the fullest and if I'm too chicken to try something new then that's a good enough reason alone, to just go out and do it!

This is our car ride up Logan canyon.  We went to Beaver Mountain for night skiing.  They only had one hill we could go down but it was nice and little so I didn't mind.  Todd, Jess, and myself are in back, then David (passenger) and Kyle (driver).

Ha ha ha ha... Ok this picture just cracks me up!  Oh poor David was so nice to help me.  This was my first run down the hill and David stuck with me and taught me how to do it.  I had the hardest time getting up on my feet so he would get behind me and push me up.  In this picture, he picked me up then we kind of just started sliding down the mountain.  Ha ha I'm sure we looked pretty ridiculous but I'm quite grateful to him and his patience :)  I did get better though I promise!

Taking a quick dinner break inside the lodge.

Ha ha Todd's face makes me laugh!

Darrell and myself at the top of the mountain strapping ourselves in.

At the end of our adventurous day... It was such a fun trip and I'm so glad that I wasn't lame and sat in the lodge.  And despite all the soreness and pain I experienced for days after, it was so worth it!  Ha I was seriously SO sore!!  I don't think I've ever been that sore in my entire life.  My whole body just hurt to move... ha anyway I loved it despite the pain!

A New Year

Sorry I'm a little late but "Happy New Year Everyone!"  I'm looking forward to see what exciting adventures this new year will bring.  Honestly my New Years Eve wasn't all that exciting but thats alright.  I just hung out with my two Jenni roommates and watched a movie.

Church was so fun yesterday because everyone finally came back up to Logan so it was great to see everyone again and hear how their breaks went!  Continental (my apt. complex) was pretty dead during the break but I kept myself busy reading, watching movies, and playing of course.  Although it's nice to have everyone back, I will miss the empty parking lot we had during the break.  It gets pretty crazy out there especially in the winter time.  It makes me kinda glad that I don't have a car up here... well at least for the winter :)  Anyway, today was the first day of the new semester!  I was really dreading going back to school but I actually enjoyed it.  Its nice to have all new classes and I have a pretty easy schedule!  I have three classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays and two of those I have with my roommate Jenni and the other one I have with my cousin/roommate Jen!  It's so fun to have friends in my classes!  I also have one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays but it's not until 1:30.  I have a feeling that I'm going to get a little bored this semester... it would be nice if I could find a simple on-campus job, but by now most of them are already taken... so we'll see what happens!
