Sledding

Last night I went sledding down Old Main Hill up in Logan with a couple of my friends.  It was way fun and the hill is so huge and perfect for sledding down.  Old Main Hill is pretty famous for sledding and ice blocking (which is what people do when there is no snow as a substitute).  I was SO excited to use my new coat and long johns, which worked very well to keep me quite warm.  We only had to sleds so the guys took one of their couch cushions and put garbage bags over it.  It works really well and when you hit those large bumps it doesn't hurt one bit but when I tried it I didn't stay on for very long... I biffed it :)  Anyway I've been feeling the results of it all today... I'm feeling kinda' sore and I discovered bruises on my behind as well as on my thigh.  Haha it was worth it though!

Christmas Break

My Christmas break has been just wonderful!!  It's been fun to get together with all my girlfriends from high school and hang out like back in the day.  Three of them still live at home but Jessica goes to BYU and I'm here in Logan.  I went back to work at Dick's Market as a Service Desk Clerk/Cashier, while I was home for two weeks, which was surprisingly fun!  I didn't realize that I actually missed working until I worked again, and the extra money will be helpful!  So other than working this break and playing with my best friends, I read a lot.  I LOVE to read but I never really have time during school so I was reading non stop for most of the break.

I had to work a 9 hour shift on Christmas Eve starting at 7 in the morning and ending at 4... oh man I was exhausted!!  Luckily it wasn't crazy busy and we had all eleven checkstands open which helped a ton, but I was still way worn out.  That night my family was doing our traditional Christmas Eve activities and I sadly was sleeping on and off on the couch...  Every year for X-mas Eve my dad reads us a christmas story and we open one present.  It was fun because my sister and brother-in-law and little niece Alexis came and stayed overnight.  Little Lexie is SO cute and it was so fun to have her around!  Especially on Christmas morning opening all of her presents.  She got some pretty big fun toys which filled our living room haha.  My Christmas presents consisted of a coat, warm fuzzy slippers, long johns and a couple long sleeve shirts... haha everything I need to live in crazy cold Logan!   I also got my own duffel bag and some books that I have been reading non stop!

The day after Christmas (Friday) was my friend Maeghan's 19th birthday.  All of us five girls got together and took her out to lunch which was quite interesting... We embarrassed Maeghan by having them sing to her at Applebee's and then shortly after Jessica spilled her entire glass of water onto Julane!  Haha oh man good times!  Us girls should not be aloud out in public when we are together.  Then we went over to Maeghan's house where we played rockband for like 4 hours... I really liked the drums :)  Overall I had a Fantastic Christmas and break at home!

Temple Square

On the Saturday after we got home, my Mom's side of the family had a Christmas Party.  Me, Jen (cousin/roommate), and our cousin Cassie who is from Arizona rode the trax to temple square to see the lights.  It was a lot of fun especially since it's not that often that us three get to to be together (usually only reunions).

Cousins!!

More Fun with Photo Booth :)

I'm sure you're all sick of all my photo booth pictures but I think it's so much fun and me and my friend Melissa got a great laugh out of it.  This was the same night of the gingerbread houses.

This one is my favorite!!

Gingerbread Houses!

Sorry that I'm so far behind but there isn't internet access at my house and I've been home for the last two weeks for the Christmas break.  I'm back in Logan now because Jen (my source of transportation) had to start work today and I decided to come back up to Logan with her for the last week and party before the new semester starts :)  Anyway so now i'm going to catch up on everything...

So on the Friday that I came home I got together with my girls and we made gingerbread houses!!  It was so fun!!  It was so great to be back together with everyone (well almost... Our friend Jess was still at BYU at this time and Julane was at work but came later).
Maeghan and Me getting ready to start the Gingerbread house making.

And the finished products... Don't they look awesome?!

Haha we had a fun time taking tons of pictures.. this is only one of the many :)

And another one.  From front to back: Maeghan, Me, Julane, Melissa, and Danielle.

Roommate Christmas Party

First of all, we FINALLY got our quote wall set up last weekend.  We have been writing down our silly quotes since the beginning of the school year and me and Jenni finally created the "wall" last Friday (when I should have been studying :), but as you can see I was avoiding it).

Jenni couldn't quite reach the wall with the table there so her solution to the problem was to just climb right up on the table!

It is still pretty small because we have missed some quotes that were never written down but it's growing as the days go by so it's ok!

For Christmas (since we are all poor college students) we drew names instead of getting everyone a present.  So Sunday night we had a little Apartment 26 Christmas party which involved hot chocolate, doughnuts, presents, and The Polar Express!  What could possibly be better than that?!  Anyway, it was a lot of fun and good to spend time just as roommates and no one else.  Jess played Santa Claus and delivered the presents to everyone, but before they could open it each person had to say something they liked about her.  It was so great!

This is our cute little Christmas tree that Jen provided with our presents underneath!  haha notice the presents are wrapped in printer paper... well all except for the one wrapped in grocery bags :)  Haha oh I love college life!

Roommate Picture!!!  Just ignore all the random junk down in front on the coffee table...

Trip to Salt Lake

Yesterday was the USU vs. BYU basketball game.  It was held in the Energy Solutions Arena (which I think sounds dumb and it should still be called the Delta Center) down in Salt Lake, so we took a little road trip and spent the day down there.  I drove with some friends from my ward and we went down early to go to the body world exhibit.  I was a little bit freaked out by the idea that they were real human bodies, but they actually didn't look very real.  I was surprised at how awesome it really was and I really enjoyed it!  the one thing that really freaked me out was the bodies had fingernails and toenails still... uh that just gave me the shivers!  Anyway it was worth it and we had a great time.  We then went over to Crown Burger for a late lunch and then headed over to the game.  It was a very close and intense game which sadly ended in a 5 point loss for the Aggies :(  And of course both my brother and sister had to rub it in...

We left Salt Lake and drove to Bountiful where we had some delicious ice cream concretes at Neilson's Frozen Custard, then went to my house where my wonderful Mom prepared us dinner!  We just hung out there for a while playing ping pong and guitar hero.  I had a great time even though I was VERY disappointed in our loss... but oh well there's always next year!

Thanksgiving Break

Happy late Thanksgiving to everyone, sorry I'm getting so behind... life has been busy lately.  Ok so I had a super wonderful Thanksgiving break and it was great to be home and have a break from school.  Thanksgiving was delicious of course and it's always good to have REAL food for once :)  I don't get much of that here... oh except for last Tuesday (the day before the break).  Jess owed our dear friend Shawn dinner from losing in a card game and we also turned it into a goodbye feast for him, since he's not coming back next semester (he's going on a mission to Sweden in March!  Yay!!).  Anyway so we went all out and even had a super awesome centerpiece that Jess put together :)  It was delicious!!

Oh we even had streamers!  Like I said... we went all out!

It was so great to see their reactions when Shawn and his two roommates walked in!  They were so surprised and just loved it!  Brownie points for us :)

After our "Parting Feast" we went to the basketball game against Weber.  It was so frustrating at first because the whole first half we were doing terrible and were behind by about ten points.  But... the second half was a completely different game!  It was a totally turn around and we came back to win by about twenty I think.  It was SO good!!

I always told myself that I would never go out shopping with the crazy people on Black Friday... but Friday morning I found myself at Sear's with my mom at 6:30 in the morning... haha!  It was actually quite fun!  We found some great deals and I got some christmas shopping done.  After Sear's, we went and picked up my sister and stopped by Smith's Marketplace, Khols (twice :) ), Target, and Seagull Book.  It was quite exhausting so I slept in the car for a bit while they continued shopping.  We didn't get home until around one and soon after eating some leftover turkey, I took a nice long nap :)

I finally saw Twilight also on Friday night.  I LOVED it!!!  There were a few parts that I was trying not to giggle because they were pretty cheesy but it was still great!!  And even though I believe they could've done better with Edward, I will admit he did grow on me.  Well it's great to be back in Logan and now I get to study my brains out for finals next week... yuck.  But oh well, it means that the semester is almost done and Christmas is coming!!!  I LOVE Christmas!!
